GEORGIA BULLDOGS

One thing every Georgia player under Kirby Smart’s regime could vouch for is his use of the loudspeaker during their practices. The loudspeaker could be a headhunter for wanting every player on that field to get better and not loaf during practice. Every player has their moment with the loudspeaker, first-round caliber players all the way down to the water crew, one person you wouldn’t expect to receive that is the two-time John Mackey award winner, Brock Bowers.

Bowers recently joined NBC’s Mike Florio and Chris Simms and tells his moment with Smart’s loudspeaker. The answer arose from a question about Smart’s joking nature and whether you can joke with him or if he is a hard-nosed coach. “Sometimes you kind of want to stray away from that,” Bowers stated, “it depends on the moment. Like, if we’re at practice and he’s yelling at somebody, you don’t want to be in his eyesight because he’ll jump on you.”

They then asked Bowers about the worst time he had his case jumped by the Nick Saban disciple. “I think it was my freshman year. We were going over this one coverage, and I missed it during the game, and we were going over corrections, and I missed it again, and he just jumped in me bad on the loud mic over the loudspeaker over the whole indoor. It’s pretty funny looking back on it.”

Those familiar with the Georgia program and how practices are run know all about the loudspeaker Smart utilizes during their practices. Even when walking around Stegman Collesium, you get a nice view of the loudspeakers on the lights that shine onto the practice field, but you would never have imagined that it would be Bowers hearing his name called over it. Either way, the loudspeaker will find you.

After Exposing Alabama’s Mess in Post Nick Saban Era, Mike Griffith Unveils Kirby Smart’s Insulting Opinion About Crimson Tide

The unparalleled dynamism in the hiring and firing department post-2023 season has put a lot at stake.

One among them is Kalen DeBoer’s reputation as the inheritor of the legacy of the legendary coach Nick Saban.

But who can blame him when it’s a whopping 6 National Championship wins across 16 seasons he has to compete with? While DeBoer himself comes in with his commendable 102-12 record during his nine years as head coach, it’s barely about coaching records alone anymore.

All of it boils down to leading one of the most pronounced conferences in the books of NCAA history.

Hence, it is now upon DeBoer to not let the reputation that Saban and the coaches before him have worked for years altogether to build down. The Alabama head coach is yet to enter the gridiron as a head coach, yet the burning questions laced with disparage have already begun. Till now, it was just analysts who were critically acclaiming DeBoer’s capacities as Alabama’s head coach. Almost as a major hit to Kalen DeBoer’s capabilities, Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart, too, is reported to not have much faith in Alabama now that it is in DeBoer’s hands.

DwagNation’s Mike Griffith revealed Georgia’s viewpoint of Texas Longhorns, who will be one of the three teams that the Bulldogs would be facing on the road next season, with Alabama and Ole Miss. “Georgia doesn’t think too much, Kirby Smart doesn’t think too much about Alabama. Really, the Oct. 19 game at Texas is the big headache,” reported Griffith. Even though it was a statement concerning Bulldogs, it was a direct humiliation hurled at Kalen DeBoer. What made the statement even more astounding was it was against Alabama, one program that has been having successful seasons for the past decade and a half.

The primary reasons for people losing faith in Kalen DeBoer

To make things a little less harsh on DeBoer, Alabama was surely a success, till 2020, when the conference won their last National Championship title thus far. Since then, the program seems to have dropped off for the last three years, per Griffith

To add to this, DeBoer’s right hand for the last 12 years, Ryan Grubb, left his side to take up the role of offensive coordinator at Seattle Seahawks, despite Gruff assuring that he won’t. For many, in Mike Griffith’s words, “DeBoer, more and more, is looking like a placeholder hire.” And this season would be the only chance with Kalen DeBoer to prove it wrong.
