Eagles player makes big prediction about Jason Kelce

Hangover

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce has yet to confirm his plans for the 2024 season, but even one of his teammates thinks he has played his last NFL snap.

Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata believes Kelce is retiring, and pointed to his behavior since the Eagles’ season ended as evidence to back up his claim.

“There’s no shot! You’re telling me, he’s going shirt off at the game, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way. He’s having too much fun. I’m going to miss him for sure”

“There’s no shot,” Mailata told NBC Sports Philadelphia prior to the Super Bowl. “You’re telling me he’s going shirts off in the games, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way. He’s having too much fun. He’s out there living his life.”

Kelce has been a prominent figure during the playoffs as he has attended brother Travis’ games. Initial reports had suggested he had already made the decision to retire after the Eagles’ playoff loss, but he disputed those and said he plans to take his time making a decision. Still, most of his activity suggests he will not be back in 2024.

Kelce could still come back, but if he does not, he will retire as one of the most celebrated offensive linemen in Eagles history and a part of a Super Bowl championship team.

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce was reported to have retired by NFL insider Adam Schefter following the Eagles’ first-round playoff exit.

Kelce later came out and refuted the idea that his retirement was official. He recently said in a podcast with former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal that he was still deciding due to the fact that the emotions were too fresh.

Now fellow Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata has come out and vehemently denied the idea that Kelce could come back next year in an article from Pro Football Talk.

“There’s no shot,” Mailata told NBC Sports Philadelphia during Super Bowl week, via CBSSports.com. “You’re telling me he’s going shirts off in the games, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way. He’s having too much fun. He’s out there living his life. And I’m going to miss him for sure, man. This has been the greatest six years of my life for sure, being here in the NFL and getting to meet people like Jason Kelce.”

Kelce has also shown his ability to speak on camera in his “New Heights” podcast with his brother Travis Kelce. Their podcast continues to grow as they have over 2.24 million subscribers on Youtube. Their most-viewed podcast episode has over 7.2 million views.

Philadelphia Eagles C Jason Kelce has grown into a fan-favorite player in his 13-year career. He helped the Eagles to a Super Bowl win in Super Bowl LII. He was Pro Football Focus’ highest-rated offensive lineman the year that they won the Super Bowl in 2017. He was crowned Pro Football Focus’ Run Blocker of the Year.

Kelce is a six-time first-team All-Pro on top of being a seven-time Pro Bowler. He was a finalist for the Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2021, which is given to players as praise for charitable actions.

His involvement as a fan of his brother during the Chiefs’ 2023 postseason run thrust him into the national spotlight even more. His antics at the game in which the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Buffalo Bills made him a nationwide fan favorite.
