Fans cheer on the Detroit Lions at Ryan’s Roadhouse

Michiganders are still on a high from last Sunday’s victory. Several bars and restaurants are hosting watch parties bringing fans together across the state.

Lions’ fandom stretches far beyond Detroit and into St. John, Michigan. Fans at Ryan’s Roadhouse are hoping for another Lions win and a chance at the Super Bowl.

“Really excited actually I been waiting for it my whole life,” said Lions fan Zach Colthrop.

“Lions win and go to the Superbowl,” said fan Towanda Mills.

“It’s time for the Lions to get a celebration, it’s going too big for the whole state,” said fan, Bob Marshall.

Over the past several weeks Ryan’s has brought fans together, hosting Lions watch parties every Sunday. Owner Ryan Colthrop says Sunday’s watch party will be epic.

“Every table is reserved around the bar, every table is reserved in the dining room, not all of them but pretty close and the bar will be packed,” said Colthrop.

Some fans were at Ryan’s for brunch Sunday morning, and they couldn’t be more supportive of the team. Bob Marshall says this season isn’t only for Detroit but the entire state of Michigan and fans who have supported, despite the odds.

“The fans have been true no matter what. We had a zero and thirteen season, the fans were still there,” said Marshall.

Jeffrey Mills, a California native has even put on his Lions gear along with his wife Towanda and wants the team to go all the way.

“San Francisco already got some championships, Detroit never had a Super Bowl, never been there so I’ll be rooting for Detroit tonight.”

Ryan’s is even serving up its own lion’s Kool-Aid, Colthorp says they’ll be drinking it till the Super Bowl, and fans will be rooting until the very end.

“Be positive, play hard, and be safe,” said Towanda Mills, when asked what she would tell the team.

The Detroit Lions are one of 12 NFL teams that don’t have a Super Bowl win in franchise history, but regardless fans are still rooting for a championship. The Lions are also the only NFC team that has never made a Super Bowl appearance. So, if they win tonight, they will make history.
