Both of the young players have high expectations for the future and have been photographed together before their planned transfers, even though they have not yet arrived at Chelsea.

Kendry Paez and Pape Daouda Diong have both been photographed together ahead of their Chelsea arrivals.

Paez will not appear at Stamford Bridge before he turns 18 years old in 2025 but Diong could be signed this June. FIFA regulations mean players cannot sign for a new club until they have reached the age of 18, hence why both are yet to officially put pen to paper in London.

Midfielder Diong is set to sign from Senegalese outfit AF Darou Salam and is a regular for his country’s under-17s. Young Ecuador talent Paez, also a midfielder, currently plays for Independiente del Valle in his homeland.

Confirming Paez’s scheduled arrival last June, Chelsea said: “The Ecuadorian, who will join Chelsea after his 18th birthday, has already built a reputation in South America as one of the brightest and most creative young talents around. Thanks to his combination of skilful dribbling along with the vision and technique to open up defences with his passing.

“Paez caught the eye by finding the net on his senior debut for his club this year, becoming the youngest debutant and scorer in the Ecuadorian top flight.” Todd Boehly and his recruitment staff have taken a youthful approach to transfers with only a handful of the current Chelsea first-team over the age of 25. That trend is set to continue for the rest of this year and beyond.

Paez and Diong were captured together on Sunday with the latter posting the snap onto his Instagram profile story. The duo are tipped for bright futures and Diong could be in the senior squad as soon as this summer.
