Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has been named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week.

“After totaling 152 points over his last three games, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week for Jan. 22-28, the NBA announced today.

“In four games during the week, Booker averaged 42.0 points on 63.9% shooting and 50.0% from three-point range, plus 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals. Booker ended the week with 40-plus points in three straight games, scoring 46 in a win on Wednesday at Dallas, followed by a Gainbridge Fieldhouse-record 62 points on Friday at Indiana, then 44 points on Sunday at Orlando.

“Over these last three games, Booker is averaging 50.7 points on 65.1% shooting, which marks the highest field goal percentage by any NBA player to average at least 50 points over a three-game stretch dating back to 1975-76.

“This marks Booker’s second Player of the Week honor this season and the ninth of his career, extending his franchise record for most Player of the Week wins. This is the second straight week a Suns player has won Western Conference Player of the Week (Kevin Durant on Jan. 22), the first time in which Suns players have won the award in back-to-back weeks since Steve Nash earned the honor on Jan. 21 and Jan. 28, 2007.

“Through 37 games this season, Booker is averaging career bests of 28.6 points and 6.3 assists, while shooting career highs of 50.5% from the field and 38.9% from three-point range. Booker has helped lead the Suns to a 12-5 record over the last 17 games, averaging 30.1 points on 54.1% shooting during the stretch.
