Breaking News: New information on the former first baseman for the Phillies and the Brewers has surfaced…..

Rhys Hoskins, a former Philadelphia Phillies slugger, recently signed a deal with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Hoskins was a fan favorite with the Phillies and now has a chance to compete for the NL Central with a sneaky Brewers team.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today has new details regarding his contract. According to Nightengale, Hoskins will earn $12 million this season and $18 million in 2025. If he opts out, he’ll earn an additional $4 million. They have a mutual option at $18 million for the 2026 season.

Hoskins got a bigger contract than some expected. After tearing his ACL in Spring Training, it wasn’t certain how much money Hoskins would command. Given the price tag, it makes sense why Philadelphia held off on a deal with him.

Dave Dombrowski made it clear in the early stages of the offseason that Hoskins wasn’t likely to return. With Bryce Harper returning from Tommy John earlier than expected, Hoskins lost his first base spot. Harper played well enough at first base to warrant staying there and even if he didn’t, they would’ve slotted him there due to his bat.

It was a tough ending to an incredible six years between the two. Hoskins has been with the organization through highs and lows, including reaching the World Series in 2022.

When healthy, he’s one of the best power hitters in baseball. In every season he’s played more than 100 games, he’s hit at least 27 home runs.

If he’s fully healthy, Hoskins provides a ton to a below-average Milwaukee lineup.
