It’s tough being MAGA these days. The fix is in on just about everything — the 2020 presidential election, the courts, the NFL. Conspiracies are everywhere.
Mike Crispi, a businessman and conservative political commentator, appears to believe the Super Bowl is fixed … or at least rigged so that Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, could make it to The Big Game against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.
The Niners rallied to beat the Detroit Lions, 34-31, in the NFC Championship Game later on Sunday.
As Swift celebrated the Chiefs’ 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game, then delivered a meme-orable kiss for her beau on the field afterward, the MAGA club vented on social media — insulting Swift, a liberal pop star, and Kelce, a pro-vaccine All-Pro.
“The NFL is totally RIGGED for the Kansas City Chiefs, Taylor Swift, Mr. Pfizer (Travis Kelce),” Crispi tweeted. “All to spread DEMOCRAT PROPAGANDA. Calling it now: KC wins, goes to Super Bowl, Swift comes out at the halftime show and ‘endorses’ Joe Biden with Kelce at midfield. It’s all been an op since day one.
But now the question is: Will Swift be able to make it to the Super Bowl in the middle of her scheduled tour and Tokyo show? Don’t bet against it, MAGA says. After all, the NFL has had this planned for months, right? Isn’t the Swift-Kelce relationship a publicity stunt?
Crispi, who says he’s the founder of the Italian American Civil Rights League, didn’t tweet anything about a conspiracy when the Giants’ Cinderella quarterback Tommy DeVito was shocking teams, however. Was that an NFL conspiracy, or just a third-stringer living his best Jersey life?
Crispi ran for election to the U.S. House to represent New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District in 2022. He lost to incumbent Chris Smith. Rigged or legit?
Meanwhile, MAGA celebrity Clay Travis was taking it on the chin on Sunday, too, after trolling the Chiefs (and Swift) for most of the season, then tweeting:
“No football fan of any race wanted two weeks of Kelce, Taylor Swift and the Chiefs. We were all Ravens — and Lamar — fans today.”
And … “I mean, Travis Kelce is making millions of dollars to shill for a shot that offers no significant protection to young men and puts their hearts at risk. How is that identity politics? He should be shamed. And the shots should be pulled for young people.”
And … “No football fan of any race wanted two weeks of Kelce, Taylor Swift and the Chiefs. We were all Ravens — and Lamar — fans today.”
And … “The Taylor Swift Super Bowl is here. You failed America, Ravens.”
They didn’t really fail, did they? The fix was in.
