Cam Newton Fires Off Bold Take On Dallas Cowboys Drama – Gridiron Heroics
The entire Dallas Cowboys organization is still dealing with the repercussions of their loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card. However, only a few imagined that one of the effects of this defeat was the family drama surrounding their quarterback and top wideout.
While the media circus surrounding the fallout is fascinating for neutral fans, one vocal person within the NFL community thinks that enough is enough with this issue.
Cam Newton’s sincere take on the latest Dallas Cowboys upheaval
Cowboys Country’s Geoff Magliochetti reports Cam Newton’s frustration at the media circus surrounding Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. He believes that Lamb’s mother, Leta Ramirez, should not have gone public with her opinions that Dak should be shipped off after their devastating 48-32 loss to the Packers.
He didn’t mince any words with the issue in the latest episode of his “4th & 1” podcast, making it clear that he felt the drama was unnecessary. He said that while the chemistry between QB1 and WR1 was apparent during the loss, family members putting their two cents in would only spell trouble for the team.
Is the Prescott-Lamb connection broken?
If we only look at the results, it’s easy to assume that there must be something wrong with the Dallas Cowboys’ keystone duo. However, the stats tell an entirely different story.
Prescott did throw two picks in his final game of the season. However, he did throw for 403 yards and a touchdown. Moreover, his four sacks show how bad the offensive line is in protecting their quarterback.
Moreover, Lamb’s 110 receiving yards show that they can work well together despite the obvious lack of chemistry in the wild card. His receiving yards (1749) and TDs (12) in the season also show that they can perform well together.
Maybe the Dallas Cowboys need a new offensive line. Maybe they need a WR2 that can take some of the coverage off Lamb. Maybe they need an entirely new offensive scheme.
What we can be sure of is that splitting them shouldn’t be at the top of Jerry Jones’ to-do list.
